To build massive sports stadiums Rio de Janero neglected its National Museum.  The 200-year-old building finally burst into flames last week. There was no water in the museum’s fire hydrants.  Every Thursday evening developers strong-arm a weak Victoria City Council to build obscenely expensive condo blocks higher and higher.  Soon only the rich folk up in the towers will  be able to see what’s left of Victoria’s harbour – it will have become an immense wind tunnel.
